The Soul Seed Family

Kate Hamilton

Kate is your average outdoor enthusiast, dabbling in many different outdoor adventures and prioritizing getting out to the mountains with her dog, and whomever else she can entice to come with her.

Kate went into outdoor guiding in 2010 on a whim after testing the waters with many other careers to realize that it was most important and enjoyable to her to be outside, moving, and teaching. She has been a sea kayak guide, guided backpacking trips, instructed snowboarding, and spent many years in outdoor camp leadership and as an outdoor pursuits facilitator developing and teaching outdoor and fitness activities with a focus in mindfulness. Kate is also a mindfulness practices facilitator and yoga instructor with a special interest in back health and yoga for outdoor sports such as hiking, biking, and paddling.

Allison Flach

Allison is an educator and social justice enthusiast raised in Calgary, Alberta. With a background in International Development and Education, Allison’s passion lies in women’s education and community development. She founded Soul Seed Journeys after a trip to India in 2011, where she fell in love with India, yoga, and all of their teachings.

Allison currently lives in Calgary and loves her work teaching bridge programs for newcomers to Canada. She is an amateur urban homesteader, itinerant artisan, yoga teacher, and lover of all things wellness. You will usually find her happily exploring her city with her partner and pup, playing in the kitchen, or planning a new adventure. She loves coffee, long runs, bike rides, pretty cookbooks, and exploring the unbeaten paths of the world.

Calla Turnbull

Calla Turnbull is an aspiring multi-tasker. She is currently managing the marketing and development of Soul Seed Journeys, and working as an environmental technical writer in Calgary, Alberta. These disciplines aren’t as different as they sound; each of them allow Calla to develop her communication skills, be continuously learning, and fund her voracious desire for travel. While studying environmental science, Calla chose to complete her degree with an area of emphasis in international development, giving her unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing us both at home and abroad. She believes in the learning power of travel and new experiences, and will promote it whenever she can.
